Fad Diets site up for sale

Posted by Stevio in My Network on May 10th, 2008

Earlier this morning I put FadDiets.info up for sale.

It’s not really a niche that I’m interested in, and as the domain is expiring in a few days, I’ve put the starting price at just $1.

Currently the highest bid is at $2, which admittedly, I’m disappointed by. I’m not expecting too much for the site, but it looks as though I’ll have to post the auction on other forums in attempt to get more bids.

The site has a great domain and has three unique and four PLR articles, so it should be a good buy for someone interested in the dieting niche.

Website search continues

As I thought, going through the sites for sale at Digital Point is pretty tough. There’s so many sites for sale - mostly rubbish that I’m not interested in.

I wish at Digital Point they’d make sub categories for ‘Want to buy’ and turnkey sites to lessen the amount of listings, but sadly it doesn’t look like that will ever happen.

Something I’ve noticed how sellers are getting more crafty. They use a cloaked URL instead of revealing the actual site in their sales thread and therefore can re-list their site over and over without anyone raising an eyebrow.

Some don’t even bother with cloaked URLs - one in a particular, a turnkey site seller, re-lists the same sites at least twice in a day, all he does is change the deal.

So my hunt continues, I have bought one site already though - more on that over the weekend, as I’ve yet to set it up.

Back looking for websites to buy

Posted by Stevio in Business on May 9th, 2008

With not been online much the last few weeks, I’m well behind with checking forums for websites to buy.

Looking at Digital Point, it looks like there’s hundreds of posts to skim through. As usual, the quality of sites on sale leaves something to be desired.

Over at webmaster-talk.com, there’s a major change as they’ve gone for a SitePoint style marketplace. Admittedly, I really am not a fan of this kind of method - as it’s always difficult to keep track of new posts. That said, one improvement over SitePoint is the listing of the site’s domain in the main index. At present it looks like it’s free to list a site there, however, I doubt that will last for long.

Talking of charging for listing sites for sale, it makes me wonder how much longer Digital Point will remain free.

Pagerank and blogroll

Posted by Stevio in My Network on May 8th, 2008

Seems while I had my head stuck in my computer’s case there was a page rank update. Admittedly, it isn’t worth much these days unless you sell links, but it’s always fun to keep an eye on your site’s Pagerank.

This site’s Pagerank is now at PR4, which is an increase by one. Sadly, I doubt it’ll remain as the blog’s I exchanged links with have removed the links to this site. It’s always sad when people do that without informing you. I guess the reason was because I hadn’t posted much lately.

Looking at my other sites’ Pagerank, most look unchanged, FootballTransfers.info remains PR4, as do most of my football sites. My other sites vary from PR0 to 3.

Of course, it would be nice to have higher Pagerank for all my sites, but let’s face it, position in search engines is more important.
