Still waiting…
It has been nearly two weeks since the auction for the automotive domain at Sedo ended. No word from Sedo since I received the automated confirmation e-mail, which said the following:
Both parties have now confirmed their contact details and the sale of <domain removed> can now proceed. A payment request has been placed in the buyer’s user account and an email has been sent asking them to make payment for this domain as soon as possible. We ask buyers to make payment within 10 working days.
Should the buyer not make payment within the first 7 working days they will receive an automatic email reminder and your transfer agent will make every attempt, both via email and telephone, to contact the buyer in order to determine when payment will be made. You will be contacted once your transfer agent has received confirmation that the payment has been received and processed.
Please rest assured that every effort is being made to ensure that the buyer makes payment promptly, and we shall contact you when there are further developments to report.
I was looking to see what would happen if the buyer backed out. Sedo’s website says the following:
What happens if I no longer wish to honour an agreement?
Pulling out leaves you open to legal action from the other party as you have agreed to a legally binding agreement. Failure to see out the agreement can also jeopardise your account status at Sedo.
As I’ve said before, I wouldn’t be too bothered if the sale fell through, what does bother me is the amount of time it’s taking, so let’s hope that it comes to a quick conclusion soon.
