Still fighting!

Posted by Stevio in My Network on January 31st, 2007

While still getting over the virus, I’m now back working on footballtransfers.co.uk. It’s not really the best thing to be doing as I should still rest up, but with the transfer window about to close, I’d rather keep the site - as well as myself - up to date with the latest moves.

I’m still planning on selling footballtransfers.co.uk, although I’ll now wait until the 1st of February or shortly after. This will mean updating all the traffic statistics and revenue information again, but perhaps that isn’t a bad thing, as interested buyers will get to see how well the site has done this month.

Today I managed to buy yet another tutorial for my Photoshop tutorial site. It’s a lighting effect for auto photos, so should be fun to test out. I’ve haven’t added it yet, in fact, I’ve still to add the previous one I bought, so hopefully I’ll have time to do that over the weekend.

Achoo!

Posted by Stevio in My Network on January 27th, 2007

Unfortunately I’ve caught a bad cold which has made it difficult to do anything, therefore the sale of footballtransfers.co.uk and work on my websites is on hold until I feel up to it. Hopefully it won’t be too long until it passes.

Some good news is that ValueClick Media have approved NatureWallpaper.co.uk, so I’ll be putting their ads on there soon. They took less that 24 hours to approve it. I also submitted the site to Casale Media for approval, unfortunately even though they said I’ll get an answer within 48 hours, so far I’ve yet to get a decision.

Fingers crossed

Posted by Stevio in Domain Names, My Network on January 25th, 2007

I’ve pretty much completed work on the actress site, so it should be officially online in the next few days.

During the weekend I posted on various forums a list of domains that I would consider offers for. I was surprised that there was no interest, especially when you see other not-so-good domains getting a lot of interest. I might try again at the weekend and this time list a few in auctions instead of asking for offers. Hopefully that’ll create more interest.

I’ve been gathering up the information for the sale of footballtransfers.co.uk, so perhaps I’ll list the site for sale on forums tomorrow [Thursday]. I might hold off listing the site at Sitepoint as they charge $20. The reason for this is that someone might be able to offer a site as part of a deal, which is something I’d consider. So we’ll see how it goes.

I’ve submitted my Nature Wallpaper site to Fastclick, or ValueClickMedia.com as they now like to be called. It will be interesting to see if it gets approved. It does get good traffic, so fingers crossed!

Big decision

Posted by Stevio in My Network on January 22nd, 2007

As things stand, I’ll be selling my biggest website footballtransfers.co.uk. Soon I won’t be able to update it as much, so rather than see the site deteriorate, I’ve decided to attempt to sell it.

I previously tried to sell it a year ago, that was because I had been ill for a few months. That time I got some interesting offers, but none that I thought were worthwhile to accept.

I haven’t put it up for sale yet as I wanted to let a few people who help me out with the site know first. Hopefully they’ll understand.

I’ll be putting together the various stats and revenue information over the course of the week, then probably post it for sale on various forums. SitePoint seems to be the place where the bigger sites are sold, so perhaps that’s where I’ll place the actual auction.

The sale isn’t something I was planning to do. I’ve run the site since 1998, so I am quite attached to it, but I guess when situations arise you have to make the right decision.
