Stop ducking!

Posted by Stevio in Business on April 13th, 2007

Recently my opinion of iTrader on forums has diminished greatly. My main reason behind it is due to hiring a writer to create a few band biographies. I expected top quality work for the rate I was paying, instead I got average work - one initially didn’t even pass at Copyscape.com. It just goes to show that they can have a great rating and equally great comments, but you can still end up with derisory results.

On a related topic, the greedy seller that I mentioned in my previous post left me negative feedback on iTrader after I did the same for him. Hilariously he said that I ‘couldn’t follow guidelines’. Maybe he was talking about himself? :)

I’m not too bothered about the negative feedback, it isn’t harmful, I already have one other negative feedback from when some moron didn’t pay up after winning an auction. He acted similarly to the aforementioned person where I left him negative iTrader, and he did the same for me. Funny how some people don’t see themselves in the wrong.

Anyways, I know people duck these kinds of issues, but these greedy, irresponsible twits shouldn’t get away with messing people around. The more people make noises when people can’t ‘do the right thing’, the less chance of it happening again.

Something else I’ve noticed is that there’s quite a few people with loads of positive feedback - like over 40 for example - and have no negative feedback at all. Have these people never had incidents with muppets like I’ve talked about? I suspect they have but have simply bitten their tongues. They should be careful they don’t bite their own tongues off!

You’re s*** and you know you are!

Posted by Stevio in My Network on April 11th, 2007

I finished work on my latest project FootballChants.info yesterday. It took a little longer than I anticipated as I kept adding new stuff, like categories for example. I’m happy with the end results, although I’m aware it’ll not be easy for the site to be a success. This is due to strong competition from FootballChants.org, which is a well established site. That said, I think the aforementioned site’s design is a little messy and has too many adverts, so with the help of my current football websites, I’m confident FootballChants.info will do well.

The last few days I’ve purchased yet another website. It’s a motorcycle gallery. The domain doesn’t point to my host yet, so once that’s done I’ll post the URL here. There should have been a second site, however, the seller decided to change the auction end time despite the fact it had already expired and I had won. I was rather amazed someone can behave like that, especially when they’re willing to throw away their reputation over a few dollars.

FootballRumours.info revamp done

Posted by Stevio in Domain Names, My Network on April 6th, 2007

I’ve managed to complete work on the Football Rumours site. Unlike before, the site now has a decent backend, meaning it’s easy to update. The design is alright, but not brilliant. It meets the requirements though, in being simple and quick loading. I can always change it later if I come up with something better.

I’ve already started on my next project. I’m using the aforementioned site as the base, as the structure for the new site is the same. I’m not expecting it to take long, in fact I’ve already done the header.

A few days back Sedo told me the following: “We would like to inform you that the buyer contacted us regarding the payment for the purchase of the domain xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.info.

“He informed us that he is not able to effect payment at the moment and that the payment will be initiated in nearly 5 weeks.”

Of course, I’m not impressed. Why someone would bid for something they don’t have the funds for, I don’t know. I’m not in any rush, but transactions that get dragged out like this are irritating.

Weekend stuff

Posted by Stevio in My Network on April 2nd, 2007

Away from the Registerfly nonsense, this last weekend I spent some time reworking FootballRumours.info. I had been considering selling it, as it wasn’t really doing much, but I decided to give it a revamp. It’s not completed yet, but I’ve rebuilt the pages and am just finishing off the design. Admittedly, I’m struggling with the latter, which is annoying, but I’ll get it done somehow.

There’s been some talk of a Google pagerank update. I’ve not seen any real changes, well apart from FootballTransfers.co.uk and FootballTransfers.info both now showing as PR5. They were PR4 when I last looked in January, which was particularly annoying, as at that time I listed the site for sale.

Talking of Google, ClaireDanes.net now appears in the search engine, which is a relief. Still no RobbieColtrane.com though.
