Competing from beyond the grave?

Soon after buying PoetryMag.com last year came a lot of hassle due to the seller trying to sell a copy on DigitalPoint. The seller’s behaviour was very unprofessional and in some cases juvenile.

Ever since my encounter with this person I had taken a passing interest in his dealings, as I was curious to see if there was anything dubious going on - and there were a few times.

This week I found out he had died, and yet still there appears to be controversy.

Apparently he sold a website database business for $10k to a Canadian, signing a no-compete agreement at the same time. Now his wife is starting up a very similar business, with her late husband’s ‘business partner’.

I don’t know why, but I’m suspicious, especially with the way the use of her husband’s death is being used to get out of an agreement.

Also, interestingly, his wife is mentioned along with her husband at RipOffReport.com. The last being from March this year.

I don’t know for sure if anything untoward is going on, but it will be interesting to see what action the Canadian takes, if any. As she’s a widow with three kids now, it wouldn’t look good in court, would it?

Don’t get me wrong, if he is dead I’m sorry to hear that. But having first hand experience of someone like him, I won’t be shedding any tears.
