Photoshop tutorial submission success - sort of

Posted by Stevio in My Network on June 29th, 2007

Last week I submitted 25 of my photoshop tutorials to good-tutorials.com and pixel2life.com. Unfortunately on the latter there’s been no sign of whether they were approved or not. At good-tutorials.com however, there has been some success.

I submitted 25 tutorials at good-tutorials.com and a staggering 22 were rejected! Three were approved though and have brought in lots of traffic!

Now the next step is to seek out other sites to other sites to submit to. One trick I’ve been using is to look at the referrals information provided by people selling photoshop tutorial sites. It’s amazing how many that are up for sale, especially on SitePoint.

Deals fall through

Posted by Stevio in Domain Names, My Network on June 25th, 2007

Today I’ve been informed that the domain sale at Sedo has fallen through. I can’t say I’m surprised as it has taken literally months for the buyer to make payment. I’m quite a happy to keep the domain, so it’s not a bad thing.

I’ve not heard from the person who was interested in one of my sites for a few days now, so I doubt anything else will happen. The person did seem pretty keen, but again, I’m happy to keep it.

At good-tutorials.com, two photoshop tutorials have been rejected. Still 23 remain un-reviewed. I’m beginining to suspect the ones at pixel2life.com didn’t submit correctly, so might have to try again.

Photoshop Tutorial submissions = pain in the…

Posted by Stevio in My Network on June 24th, 2007

Tonight I’ve finally got around to doing quite a few things. For example, submitting the photoshop tutorials at PSTutorials.co.uk to a few sites. I should have done this a long ago as sites like pixel2life.com and good-tutorials.com are great for generating traffic.

It was a bit time consuming and a bit annoying, especially having to mess around creating avatars for each tutorial, but hopefully it’ll be worth it.

Something else I managed to find time to do was to work on my Sonic Youth site. I bought it - a long with a few other band sites - a few months back, but apart from putting the site online, I did nothing else, not even putting Adsense on it.

There wasn’t too much work to be done, just installing a different gallery and news script, plus I added a biography which someone on Digital Point wrote for me.

I think the only thing that needs doing now is to try and sort the central left content alignment, fingers crossed it won’t be too hard!

Nothing new

Posted by Stevio in My Network on June 23rd, 2007

Since the computer hassles I’ve not really created or bought any new websites. I have though continued to look for new acquisitions.

During the week I was close to snapping up a website about a footballer, unfortunately, even though I had offered BIN, someone beat me to it.

I wasn’t too bothered about missing out though, as the only good thing about it was the domain.

I was slightly irritated and perhaps even suspicoius by the buyer and seller. The seller - who was already the highest bidder - failed to post his BIN offer in the auction thread, and the seller initially failed to inform me that I hadn’t won.

I don’t know why, but lately it seems more and more common that people on forums can’t run or participate in auctions properly.

Anyhow, there could be a sale in the works, someone has enquired about the availability of one of my sites. I’m not actively looking to sell, however, the site has been neglected a bit, so if the interested party meets my asking price, I’ll most likely sell.

Before the computer problems I was still looking to sell one further website. Hopefully over the weekend I can get the site listed on various forums. I’m not in a rush to sell, but creating space on the hosting for further projects would be good.

I failed to mentioned that I did actually acquire one site prior to all the computer troubles - the site is World War 2 Archive. Surprisingly, the site cost very little and I think it goes perfectly with my other site about the Bismarck.
