Seek and ye shall find!

Posted by Stevio in Domain Names on July 29th, 2007

Due to Dotster’s special offer on .infos domains, I’ve been looking for new ones to register. So far, I’ve registered 10. A few of them I intend to have fun with and try and flip. Of course, I’m not registering any old rubbish!

One thing is for sure, I’ll be registering some more before the coupon expires in a few days time. It’s amazing that there’s still quite a few quality .infos still waiting to be registered, just shows if you put in the effort to find them, you can be rewarded!

Dodster’s .info special offer

Posted by Stevio in Coupons, Domain Names on July 25th, 2007

Good news for .info addicts! Dodster have a special offer on where you can register .info domains for just 99c.

I’ve no experience of Dodster, but I know they’ve been around for a while. They also take payment via Paypal, which is a bonus.

To take advantage of the special offer, simply use the coupon code ‘99info’ on checkout and the price will be automatically updated.

This offer, which lasts only until July 31st, comes at a good time for me, as I have my eye on quite a few .info domains!

Five new websites bought!

Posted by Stevio in My Network on July 23rd, 2007

After much searching, I’ve finally been able to buy some new websites.

I bought thesmashingpumpkins.info, the-killers.info, thedecemberists.info, sufjanstevens.info and lessthanjake.info.

As you can see, they’re all about music - which seems to be a niche that I’ve been buying a lot of recently.

Admittedly, I only know the Smashing Pumpkins and The Killers, but it will be interesting to ‘get to know’ more about the other three bands/singer.

According to the seller the sites make a consistent amount of revenue per month, so I’m hoping they’ll remain consistent or even improve with a little bit of work. Even after one day a few of the sites have already generated some revenue via Adsense. So it’s looking good.

Finding good .com domains

Posted by Stevio in Domain Names on July 21st, 2007

Since being unable to acquire the domain I mentioned in the last post, I’m now on the search for a .com domain for a new project.

These days, finding a .com domain that’s not already taken is rare, and what’s more annoying, is that most of the domains forward to a domain sponsor site. Of course, I can’t really moan about that, as I’ve got a few parked domains, but it’s still irritating.

I could try and buy another a domain, however, I’ve decided to find an unregistered one, so I’m now doing various things to try and come up with ideas for words to use in the domain.

I’ve been using Reference.com’s thesaurus, which helps to provide alternative words related to what I’m looking for.

I tried DomainTools.com’s domain suggestions tool, but the results were really poor.

I’ll be making notes of the interesting ones and hopefully will find one I like and register it in the next few days.
