Registerfly are still annoying

Posted by Stevio in Domain Names on October 30th, 2007

Rather annoyingly, I’ve been receiving quite a few renewal notices from registerfly.com. Thing is the notices are for domains that are long gone from the former registrar.

I’m amazed that the site is still operational following all the mayhem earlier this year when they lost their ICANN accreditation.

Something else that’s odd is that the site registerflies.com, which that was quite prevalent in the fight against Registerfly, now points to a parking page. Even though Registerfly lost their accreditation, it’s important that people are continually made aware that they should never ever use Registerfly!

New automotive website

Posted by Stevio in My Network on October 28th, 2007

I’ve been pretty busy this week therefore not done as much with my websites as I would like. I did however buy a new automotive website.

The site is Volvo-C30.net which is all about the Volvo C30 car. It didn’t cost much and is a nice little site to add to my other automotive websites.

I hope to get to work on some new websites over the week. I’m also plotting the redesign of FootballTransfers.info, which will be a tough job to do.

Adsense reports glitch?

Posted by Stevio in My Network on October 24th, 2007

Today when checking my Adsense account I noticed that when clicking “view all AdSense for Content channels” for yesterday the data was incomplete. It looks like it’s showing information for only part of yesterday as the page impressions as well as earnings don’t add up. The previous day’s data shows fine, so why this is happening I don’t know. Is this happening to you too? Let’s hope it’s just a glitch that will right itself!

Sold forums revisited

Posted by Stevio in My Network on October 22nd, 2007

I’ve sold a few forums in last few years - mainly sports ones - I thought it’d be interesting to see how they’ve all got on.

The first one I sold was WorldFootballForums.com. At the time I thought I was doing the right thing in selling as I wanted the forum ‘to be taken to the next level’. Recently the site was sold on again and now points to an online television site. The forum had quite a few members, so it’s sad to see it gone.

TheSportsForum.net now has loads of members and posts - unfortunately mostly spam. Again, very sad to see the forum in this state.

ExoticAutoTalk.com was an automotive forum that totally flopped for me. The members weren’t too friendly, so in the end I sold it on. I know the person who bought it from me made a tidy profit after converting it to the blog as it is now.

My most recent sale was EnglandFootballForum.com. I decided to sell as I needed a football forum for a more international audience. The new owner made some nice changes, unfortunately the forum appears to have stagnated. There’s now also hundreds of spam members too.

Selling WorldFootballForums.com I very much regret, but the lesson learned was that if you want a forum - or even a website - to be taken to the next level, do it yourself!
