Another Godaddy coupons update

Posted by Stevio in Coupons, Domain Names on July 24th, 2008

People slate Godaddy but you certainly can’t argue against their prices. I was recently looking to renew a .info domain at Dotster, the cost? $15.45 for one year!

Thanks to Godaddy coupons however, things are a lot cheaper.

The coupon code ‘downforce’ is great for renewals on various extensions taking 15% off - works on .info transfers too, just $6.99!

Another good code is ‘goxt2001c’, this brings down the price of a .com to $7.05.

A good thing is that the cost of registering a .info has gone up by a dollar to $1.99 - I would still prefer to see another increase!

It’s recommended that if you come across a great saving on domain registrations or renewals to take advantage of them, as you never know how the opportunity will last!

tooth.net for sale on Sitepoint

Posted by Stevio in Business on July 22nd, 2008

An interesting website for sale at SitePoint is tooth.net.

The domain was registered back in September 1996 and is of course one word, therefore very valuable.

The site itself isn’t too hot - and looks like it hasn’t been updated since November 1998.

Bizarrely the seller has only recently put Adsense on the site, therefore there’s little in terms of information regarding revenue.

Current bidding is at $6,500, with a BIN of $15,000.

You can check out the auction here.

Upload Image site launched

Posted by Stevio in My Network on July 22nd, 2008

A couple of years back I had an image upload site. I ended up selling it as it was extremely boring to manage. Also it was poor in terms of generating revenue.

A few weeks ago, I realised that an upload image domain I had wasn’t doing anything in Sedo - no traffic nor interest from buyers. Therefore I decided to once again delve into the world of running an image hosting site.

The site is UploadImage.co.uk. So far it’s going well with around 14 members already signed up. It hasn’t been as tedious to run as there’s not been too many uploads, but the site has made a few dollars - which is better not than what it was earning whilst parked at Sedo!

Mayhem

Posted by Stevio in My Network on July 15th, 2008

Last weekend was mayhem. I had planned to get so much done, instead it was hold up after hold up.

For example, I wanted to move two new sites to my hosting that I’d bought, unfortunately, the seller sent the wrong username for the site’s hosting, meaning I couldn’t move that site nor the other site due to nameservers.

Another thing was to install and customise a new script for a few wallpaper websites. The sites had been hacked last week and I thought I’d change the script to a better one. Unfortunately the hosting went down for hours.

To top it off the hacker was back targeting a site he/she had targeted last week - which I thought had been fixed. So that site is now offline and needs sorting.

There’s still quite a lot of other things to do, oh well, I guess it’s better to be busy than have nothing to do.
