Upload Image site launched

Posted by Stevio in My Network on July 22nd, 2008

A couple of years back I had an image upload site. I ended up selling it as it was extremely boring to manage. Also it was poor in terms of generating revenue.

A few weeks ago, I realised that an upload image domain I had wasn’t doing anything in Sedo - no traffic nor interest from buyers. Therefore I decided to once again delve into the world of running an image hosting site.

The site is UploadImage.co.uk. So far it’s going well with around 14 members already signed up. It hasn’t been as tedious to run as there’s not been too many uploads, but the site has made a few dollars - which is better not than what it was earning whilst parked at Sedo!

Mayhem

Posted by Stevio in My Network on July 15th, 2008

Last weekend was mayhem. I had planned to get so much done, instead it was hold up after hold up.

For example, I wanted to move two new sites to my hosting that I’d bought, unfortunately, the seller sent the wrong username for the site’s hosting, meaning I couldn’t move that site nor the other site due to nameservers.

Another thing was to install and customise a new script for a few wallpaper websites. The sites had been hacked last week and I thought I’d change the script to a better one. Unfortunately the hosting went down for hours.

To top it off the hacker was back targeting a site he/she had targeted last week - which I thought had been fixed. So that site is now offline and needs sorting.

There’s still quite a lot of other things to do, oh well, I guess it’s better to be busy than have nothing to do.

New websites built and bought

Posted by Stevio in My Network on June 13th, 2008

The last few weeks I’ve been buying a few websites as well as putting a few together.

One website I built was FitnessExercise.info. I had been trying to sell the domain but after getting low offers for it, I decided to take someone’s advice and developed it.

The site runs on Wordpress, a free theme and PLR articles, so it has cost nothing to build.

I also built a small site about Wolf spiders. Not sure why but I’m finding spiders quite interesting, therefore putting the site together was fun. Only thing I didn’t like is the pictures of spider bites!

I picked up a funny images website and also a site that provides random quotes.

I’m in the process of building another wordpress driven website. That one just needs content adding. I’m also looking at my domains to see which would be fun to develop.

Glorious Football blog

Posted by Stevio in My Network on May 26th, 2008

In my last post I mentioned a new site I had been working on. The site is GloriousFootball.com.

The site is a football news blog, with articles mainly to do with football transfers.

There’s over a staggering 10,200 articles, which came from SublimeFootball.com (which I used to own) and FootballTransfers.info.

The site runs on Wordpress, which I must say makes it a joy to work on, especially when compared to the Sublime Football script I used to use.

The main problem after converting the MySQL database to match Wordpress’, was finding a theme.

At first, I was very interested in the Revolution Sports theme, however, the fact that it wasn’t unique and you couldn’t remove the links, I soon changed my mind.

Luckily, after begining to think I’d never find a good unique theme at a reasonable price, one came along. I had to tweak it here and there, plus I added the players in the header, but overall I’m very happy with it.

Something I delved into, which I really should have done ages ago, is plugins. I installed on Glorious Football as well as most of my other blogs: ‘All in One SEO Pack’, ‘Google XML Sitemaps’ and ‘WordPress Related Posts’.

Something I noticed missing from the theme was tags. Seems to fix it, all I needed to do was add a little bit of code in theme, which I did.

So Glorious Football is looking good - now I just need to decide on which direction to take it.
